Kings X Clubland: The Launch

Last night marked the beginning of the end of our Kings X Clubland project. The preparation was long and hard but the final result was immeasurable. We took a corporate Camden council building meeting room and transformed it into a nostalgic club room from the 90s.
The doors opened at 7 and guests poured in. It was a club environment from the off with loud music directing people and filling the atmosphere so that people were ready to ‘express themselves’ as soon as they came in. The drinks were served and on came our iconic host Normski, who introduced our Project and gave a very emotional account of his memories from the Kings Cross Clubbing era. Guests crowded around TVs to watch our documentary trailer.
The brilliant Brandon Block then took us back in time with a DJ set followed by the Magnificent Mike Pickering taking over the decks too. Accompanied by some amazing dancers who shut down the dance floor and got everyone in the mood to move.
Mix this in with some special guest appearances which included Emeli Sande, Bobby and Steve, Dave Swindells and Steven John Proctor, our launch night was a smash hit.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended last night! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you.
Our exhibition will be available to view until Sunday 17th of February on Floor 2 of the Camden Council  (The library) Building in Kings Cross.
The Documentary is now live on our youtube channel, follow this link to watch it:
