Coals Drop Yard
The Cross and the Bagley’s used to be the epicentre of London best clubs, more than just a great night-life it was a delicate motion picture of time changing with a dirty House music soundtrack, a mix of empowered young people getting lost in music. Looking at the square with a raised central building, and the metallic structures in the background, I remember some pictures of kings cross back at the time, I have no problem recognizing the Bagley’s, and where people were queuing to get in the Cross. Of course the buildings are rationalized, but it allows people to flow through, the mass movement of the 80s/90s definitely still there, and it is nice to walk nearby with a number of benches around to enjoy a bit of sun by the water. The Coal Drop Yards could become a great functioning public space for London, and a space for creativity and innovation.
